Happy Groundhog Day! Thanks to Pittsburgh pet photographer, Charlene Potts, for these images of Zoey and Jetta, two beautiful Siberian Huskies in their element.
While Jetta was shocked to hear Punxsutawney Phil’s bold prediction, Zoey was not happy.
From Charlene: “Jetta and Zoey were obviously the perfect candidates for a snow session! They had so much fun during their session, and they made sure that I did, too.”
From Julie: “It’s a yearly tradition for my family and me to visit the Pittsburgh Pet Expo in the fall. In 2014, I was lucky enough to win a complimentary session with professional pet photographer Charlene Potts. As soon as she found out that I had two Siberian Huskies, we agreed that waiting until the next fresh snowfall would be ideal for capturing their personalities. On a beautiful and COLD, February afternoon in the suburbs of Pittsburgh, PA, Charlene and her bag of tricks traveled to my parents fenced in back yard. Charlene had so much patience trying to get different shots and would use fun noises, sounds, and toys to grab their attention. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results!
Zoey, 3 ½ years old, is my red and white princess. Always kind hearted and regal, when she deems it appropriate for her minions to lavish her with attention, she sits pretty and allows her head and neck to be scratched, never her belly. Until her, I’d never met a dog who doesn’t like belly rubs. She’s content to be around the people she loves but doesn’t need to be the center of attention.
Jetta, 2 ½ years old, is my gray and white goofball. She’s in constant motion and an attention seeker. Often nicknamed ‘Aroo‘, the sound a husky makes when they talk, she wakes up every morning with lots to say.
If I could translate the first five minutes of her morning, it would be: ‘Hurry up and let me out’, ‘Wait, Zoey why don’t you want to play RIGHT now?’, ‘Fine, even if you don’t want to play, I’ll jump on you anyways,’ ‘Yup, I think I need to pee,’ ‘Let’s eat,’ and then ‘Good morning, Mom, can I have a belly rub?’
Zoey’s father is Jetta’s grandfather, so I think that makes them cousins.”
I am hoping that we get a couple more snow storms for all the Siberian Huskies and other snow-loving dogs and their humans.

I’m a husky lover so I really enjoy seeing them in their element. These are such beautiful photos. I laughed because huskies are so expressive with their faces. I took some photos during our snow day this year and I got similar silly faces from my pack.
