Focus: Elvis

I can’t think of a sweeter way to start the week than these endearing photos Lucy Munoz sent of her daughter Giselle and their 12 year old Maltese, Elvis.

Everyone should have a friend like Elvis.  Instead of singing “Hound Dog”, this Elvis sings “You’ve Got a Friend in Me”, the theme song from Toy Story.

  He listens to Gigi’s secrets,

and knows exactly when to laugh.

And when to just be there for her.

From Lucy:   “Giselle really loves Elvis and will ask me to photograph them together constantly. I feel they are connected in a way that is so hard to describe. He loves her so much that he will accept her dressing him up in fairy wings, allow her to take him down the slide with her, and pretty much anything else she imagines. She constantly asks me if he understands what she is saying. I always tell her,  ‘with you…absolutely.'”

I love to see the bond between kids and their dogs, and Lucy has done  a great job of not only nurturing their friendship, but documenting it as well.  You can see more of  Lucy’s photography on her blog.
