Have I got a treat for you! Kristen and Melissa from Tangled Lilac Photography sent me this gorgeous on location session with Huck the handsome German Shepherd plus two of his best horse friends, Joe and Matsi.
From Melissa and Kristen: “Joe is a 28 year old horse that was rescued by his loving mom, Maryann. His best friend is Matsi, a beautiful appaloosa horse who loved the camera to the point that we could hardly get any of the primary subject, Joe. Completing the trio was handsome Huck, the German Shephard. Huck was best friends with the horses and you could tell that he adored his mom, Maryann, by their connection in the photos.”
From Maryann: “Huck is the youngest of our 4 dog pack and the ‘enforcer’ and the most vocal. He keeps an eye on all the other dogs to make sure no one gets out of line. He is obsessed with balls and swims like a retriever.
For the first 3 years of his life, he worked for a living and when he was old enough he became a certified Therapy dog. He is a 4 1/2 year old German line German Shepherd (my other 3 dogs are rescues). He is the youngest in the pack, the biggest, loudest and the most privileged because he is so good. He trained himself mostly to stay by me and just hang out. He doesn’t often bark but he does “scream.” Wow!
He was a therapy dog until he retired to stay at home on the little farm we purchased a couple of years ago. Since we moved to a small farm a year and half ago, he’s become a ranch dog.
He now spends his days taking long walks with my partner Michael, herding chickens and cats, and trying to get the horses to play catch.
He enjoys walking in the desert, going to the feed store, feeding the farm animals and of course swimming and playing ball.
He is the love of my life ( but don’t tell the others!)”
