I used to think that I was really good at guessing at Pictionary, until I realized that I was comparing myself to people who had to guess what I was drawing … Perhaps because I can’t draw at all, I am always amazed by people who can. Jenna Wilkes from Imagine Art has a lot of talent!
From Jenna: “Imagine Art was started in 2006 – When I was just a junior in high school. I was selling my random landscapes, still lives, and animal portraits. I did some freelance work and painted a bunch of murals. It wasn’t until 2013 that I really decided to leap into the world of pet portraits. I had a lot of trial and error portraits before I really perfected my skill.
I’ve gone through 3 different types of media since then and I finally settled on chalk pastel. I love the vibrance of the colors and the accuracy in fine details that I can achieve. I often apply many layers of different colors to get the look of fur, and the pastels allow me to do that. (See the process here.)
Many of my clients have discovered my portraits through Facebook. Because of that, my audience spreads across the world, and I send portraits overseas more and more often. I love knowing that my art exists on so many continents! “
Portraits make great gifts for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. Jenna offers gift certificates!
About Imagine Art: Jenna’s love for animals is second only to her love of art. Since the age of 3, Jenna knew she wanted to be an artist. After graduating from Paier College of Art in Connecticut in 2012, she launched her business, Imagine Art, and focused on perfecting her animal portraiture. She has gained a reputation for capturing the animal spirit and expression in her art as her attention to fine details brings her portraits to life.
