I know a lot of people are biased against small dogs, but Matty is breaking the small dog stereotype with his love of outdoors and athleticism! Grace Darnell from Right Start Productions sent me this session of her amazing sporty Yorkie.
From mom + photographer Grace: “The best thing about being a professional photographer AND having an incredibly photogenic dog is that we always end up some of our best memories being recorded.
We found Matty via an ad on Craigslist, a woman had 6- 7 cages in the back of her van. Matty was scared and hungry and was only 6 weeks old.
7 years later I can say without a doubt this dog is the best thing that has ever happened to me. He has never truly overcome his fear of strangers, but with much love and patience he is confident and comfortable in many situations.
Matty’s favorite activity is swimming by far! He will do anything and everything to get near the water. He loves to jump off the dock or even out of our kayak. He has a little life jacket with a handle so we can pluck him out of the water when he is done. We even taught him to untie our boat from the dock and jump into it!
He also loves hiking, horseback riding, and long car rides! “
