Chances are if you’re reading this blog, you share my enthusiasm for photographers and clients who include their dog in engagement sessions.
I was so happy when Tiffany Tcheng from Tiff Photography sent me these photos of Jack, Natalie and Mike.
When I look at this photo, I can easily see why Natalie and Mike chose Jack from the Arizona Humane Society. They had stopped by the shelter just for kicks. Although they knew they wanted a dog, it wasn’t an ideal day because Mike (a musician) had a show that night.
Then they saw Jack. Three-legged Jack was shaved, wearing a cone and RUNNING. His sutures (from the leg amputation) had been removed just hours before hand. His foster mom had noted how he was the BEST dog she had ever known. The volunteers at the shelter commented how he was a very happy and loving dog. And just like that, Natalie found herself sitting at home that night with a newly adopted dog.
From Natalie: Jack’s hobbies include doing suicides in our back room, not slipping and falling on the wood floors, shocking bystanders with his speed, and destroying bones and ropes in as little time as possible. His favorite treat is his Kong, but you can often find him feasting on his own foot or tail. He also loves to cuddle. This is possibly his greatest and most beloved talent. He manages to lay on you, even if you are standing and will not think twice about sitting on you as soon as your body is in reach. He someday hopes to scratch his right ear, although we are not confident. For now, we don’t mind scratching it for him.
My favorite part of Jack though, is that he is sweet beyond words. I have never known a dog with a more genuine love for his owners, and I feel so lucky to have found him.
I bet Jack feels equally lucky to have found Natalie and Mike! You can see more of their engagement session on Tiffany’s blog.

I was Jack’s foster mom from AHS. I had brought him in to have his sutures removed, he was also recovering from kennel cough. They told me he was good to go for adoption and it caught me off guard, I thought I would have a few more days with him. I hadn’t even completed his foster profile yet. I was sobbing trying to get through the paperwork. It was a cold and rainy day and I didn’t think anyone would be in looking, especially for a special needs dog (Although, you would never know it!!) I was shocked when AHS called me at home within three hours to tell me a nice couple had been in to adopt him. I almost took him back home with me because my son wanted to say goodbye. I know it was meant to be. He was my best foster EVER and I have often wondered how he is doing. I have pictures of him all over my house. The best part of Jack is his sweet nature and he loves to cuddle. You couldn’t have picked a better dog 🙂
