I’m so excited to share this gorgeous girl that Connecticut photographer Kathryn Schauer photographed last fall. Not only is Marcy gorgeous and athletic, she looks like she has a great sense of humor!
From Kathryn: “Marcela is a 7 year old ball of fun! According to a DNA test, she is a German Shepherd, Saluki, Glen of Imal Terrier, English Spaniel, Catahoula leopard dog, Pointer, and Mini Bull Terrier! I’d say she’s a lovable “mutt.” She was adopted at 9 months old from the Humane Society of Boulder Valley – a transfer dog from Espanola, New Mexico. At the time she only understood Spanish! She now lives in a loving home in Old Saybrook, CT with a canine sister and brother, and two feline siblings.” From Samantha: “My children and I had rescued an Aussie/Pointer mix who was(is) quite the hand full and I had the idea an older male Bordie Collie would be a good second dog. So the kids and I went on Boulder Humane’s website. We saw the picture of Waffles, a 9 month old female cattle dog mix, and my son fell in love with her. A few days later, we were at the Boulder Creek Festival and the Boulder Valley Humane Society had adoptable animals. We had to look, and saw “Waffles” in person. We were hooked, but someone else had put her on hold. I put our name down just in case it didn’t work out. Luckily for us, it didn’t, and after a meet and greet with our other dog, she was ours! We changed her name to Marcella Pearl, Marcy for short. She was afraid of the car, the stairs, our cats, and the crate. She was not potty-trained, knew no commands in English, had a horrible case of Giardia, and we later found out, has no cattle dog in her! She has turned out to be an amazing guard dog that loves her family and her set routine! She is our alarm clock and a tattle- tale if any dog, cat, or kid is out of line! She loves to play ball on her morning walks, and then pass the time on the couch until her evening walk.”You can see more of Marcy’s session on Kathryn’s blog. In the second pair of pictures I can see a little Bull Dog – as well as in the characteristic need for order 🙂 What a cutie!
Of course, I meant to say Bull Terrier….
Such a happy story!
