Yesterday I asked for photographers and/or rescue groups to send me photos of dogs needing new homes. I received a message from Meghan Lawson about some lovely dogs that are being fostered by a group called Project Buddy located in Washington State. Project Buddy is a group of individuals, foster homes and dog trainers, dedicated to helping unwanted or otherwise discarded pets that have no hope in the shelter system. Often these dogs have medical or behavioral issues that would deem them “unadoptable” by other rescues. These volunteers dedicate their time and homes to helping train, socialize and ready dogs for adoption.
Sophie is approximately 3 years old. She is an American Staffordshire that was found roaming the streets in California. Sophie continues to come out of her shell and her foster family falls more and more in love with her every day. She is still shy around new people, but once she gets to know you is a complete snuggle bug who wants nothing more then to be right with you. She is dog friendly, loves to play and is a TOTAL sweetheart! She is pretty good on the leash and is kennel trained. Sophie is extremely loyal and will be very bonded to her new owner…her only vice is that she’s a pretty loud snorer!
Charlie Brown is a mild mannered dog, and is crate and house trained. He walks decently on leash but could use some work. He is rather mellow and quiet and loves affection. Potential adopters must be willing to continue obedience training with him. Reports from his current foster are that he is doing well in the home. He would be best as an only dog, and will need a secure/fenced yard. He will need a home without a cat. He is a great dog with a lot of potential and is looking for a place to finally call home.
Diesel is an 14 month old Brindle Pitbull who excels in every direction. He is very smart boy and loves learning new things. He is willing to please and if you are looking for a happy guy to share your life with he is your man. Diesel’s new family must be willing to commit to continuing Diesel’s training. He would be best in a home as an only dog.
Update: Diesel has been adopted!
Lillie is a spunky girl with lots of love to give. She is crate and house trained and has a good foundation of obedience, this girl aims to please. Lillee enjoys hiking, swimming and playing fetch. She would be okay in an apartment as she is pretty easy going. She does great with cats, dogs and kids, but we are recommending a home with children over the age of 10. She is a great little gal looking for her forever family. For more information, please contact projectbuddy@gmail.com.
